This home is, as a visitor has put it, ‘a peaceful heaven!’. The house is a work of love with special attention to details and careful interior decorating with unique and unusual art pieces – Portuguese and French Provencal taste under a typical Portuguese roof – every room is a discovery.

When the sliding glass doors are open, the living and dining rooms become part of the landscaped gardens surrounding the house. Situated high up on a hill, the view is outstanding. The extensive Mediterranean gardens have pergolas, several sitting corners, winding cobblestone paths, herbs and fruit trees, keeping the main house and outdoor patios very private.

Enjoy the peaceful outdoor setting and view: there are 2 large covered terraces with dining tables and a third terrace with built-in BBQ and outdoor sink. The house also has a rooftop terrace with lovely panoramic views which extend from the ocean on the south/west and faraway city of Lagos to the Monchique Mountains to the north!

The house is built around a courtyard with a lemon tree – all bedroom windows open to this secluded courtyard, which has direct access to roof terrace – the perfect place for lounging with a book, admiring the outstanding views and sunsets. The villa has a Portuguese accommodation licence: AL 14989

Bedrooms: Spacious rooms, fitted wardrobes, doors/windows to exterior courtyards. Master bedroom: King bed (2,00mx1,70m), en-suite bathroom All other bedrooms: twin beds (2,00×0,90cm), own bathrooms Child’s cot available. Small bed in spare room available.
Bathrooms: Five bathrooms available, walls beautifully tiled with Portuguese traditional, hand painted tiles, windows to exterior, towel warmers, spacious showers, modern fixtures.
Kitchen: Very spacious, light, Mediterranean style – hand painted Portuguese wall tiles, terracotta floors, lots of counter space. Coffee machine, electric tea kettle, microwave, toaster. Opens to dinning room.
Utility Room: Utility room, off the kitchen, has all the cleaning equipment including washing machine, hoover, iron, ironing board, etc. It also has an extra alcove with small bed which is perfect as hideaway/extra children’s bedroom.
Living Rooms: Living/dining rooms are connected by two open fireplaces. Light, Mediterranean rustic-style furniture.
Very spacious, two sofas, armchairs. Also alcove with cushions and work table which doubles as breakfast table. Solid wood hutch, rustic sideboards.
Other: The outside entrance with stone fountain leads on to an extra hallway/living area/courtyard. Landscape: mature bougainvilleas and trees, rosemary, hibiscus, oleanders. Plenty of parking inside the property. Satellite TV with international channels. DVD player, lots of DVDs. AIRCO available at extra charge

All bedrooms have free standing fans and the windows have mosquito netting protection. 3 bedrooms have en suite bathrooms.

The private,10x5m pool is in a sheltered area with plenty of shade, sun loungers, a separate outdoor shower and a stone table embracing an old tree – perfect for picnicking in the shade, watching the children splashing in the water. Pool depth 0,90x2m

The house has a private driveway, a carport and parking area for several cars. It is totally fenced off with security gates, stone walls and wrought iron grates in windows, artistically handmade. Total plot: 3600m2, total build: 360m2,

Several spectacular beaches nearby, less than 5 min. drive. The area has numerous good restaurants.The little supermarket just a walk up the road has international newsprint.

The property is set back from the country road leading on to Gramacho golf course. This is golf heaven and the villa is a great golf retreat.

Arrival time is between 15,00h and 20,00h. Departure time: before 10,00h.

Special interest holidays

Carvoeiro village is just 5min. drive and Praia da Rocha hub of shops, night life/Casino and down town Portimão is about 15min. drive. Carvoeiro is about a 15 minute walk and the towns of Lagos, Silves & Portimão are up to 30 minutes drive. A leisurely day trip would include the Monchique mountains and Cape St Vincent with other areas of the western peninsula.
Come here for a holiday out of season: a typical day in April is similar to an English summer day – with the garden looking its best.
If you have special interests, please let us know: nearly all activities – too many to list! – are available and we are happy to try to get the information for you.

Stroll downtown Carvoeiro and check out all the shops. Walk along the cliffs …drive to nearby Ferragudo fishing village for the flea market, or Alvor fishing village (15min. away) where you can take kite-surfing lessons…or just observe the colorful kite surfers and take advantage of the extensive, new boardwalks that provide access to the dunes and beach.


The nearest airport is in Faro, a 40 min drive from Lagoa on the A22 motorway; Car hires are recommended to reserve in advance of arrival, especially during the high season. The airport in Lisbon is about a 3 hours drive, or a 4 hour bus or train ride away. We have helped guests in the past with transfer arrangements. If there is a need, please let us know.

Further details

Many restaurants and convenience stores, shops, banks, all nearby. The village of Carvoeiro is like a quaint shopping centre, but there are many others around (Aqua Shopping Centre, Guia Shopping Centre). There are several water slide parks.

Other activities available in the area: windsurfing, surf, para-gliding, skydiving, kite-surfing, horseback riding, cycling, hiking, dolphin watching, kayaking, jet skiing, diving, snorkeling, paragliding, coastal tours, sailing, fishing. You will find all the details in a Welcome Folder upon arrival, but feel free to ask us for more details!

The extensive coast line and beach area offer plenty of privacy and sunbathing space for all, without any fear of towel overlapping. There is also plenty of space for beach games such as Frisbee and the very popular bat and ball.

F1 Autodrome and International Carting Track is just a short drive.

Just up the road (5min walk), the restaurant Bon Bon with excellent reviews, also does catering. On the beach of Caneiros, the restaurant Rei Das Praias looks more like a cafe, but has an absolutely splendid setting, and grills some fresh fish that is truly excellent. A bit expensive for what you get, but worth at least one meal.

Just down the road: The Olive Tree in the Vale d’Oliveiras beautiful resort (you have a discount with the Property Manager’s card, available at the villa). Italian restaurant (great for children!) – just walk up the road.

Booking notes

We ask for a deposit to secure your booking. A €300,00 cash refundable security/damage deposit is payable at the time of arrival and will be refunded once the villa has been checked to ensure that everything is in order.

A Welcome Pack awaits in refrigerator – with our compliments.
